Gospel-centered

Relational

Humbly Praying

Who is involved?

The ECPC Student Ministry has two groups - middle school (6th -8th grades) and high school (9th- 12th grades).

Who leads the Student Ministry?

Matt Luchenbill is ECPC's Student Ministry Director. Matt and his wife, Michelle, attended Covenant College and are experienced student ministry workers. They have four young children, Andrew, Ashley, Sarah and Emily. To learn more about the staff, please click here.

The Adult Student Ministry Staff is made up of a group of parents and other adults who volunteer to help lead the different areas of student ministry. This group meets monthly to plan, train and pray.

The Student Servant Team is made up of students who seek to lead the student ministry by example into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. This team also helps plan activities.

What is the philosophy of the Student Ministry at ECPC?

Thestudent ministry at ECPC is led by our student ministry director but is supported by the active participation of parents, who we believe have the primary responsibility of nurturing their children spiritually. Much emphasis is placed on helping our students recognize how they have been gifted by God and how they can use those gifts to build the church.

What do we do?

Exalt the living and true God through worship:

  • Sunday Morning Worship.  Our Middle School and High School students worship corporately with the whole church body on Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m.
  • ’3:17’   The name comes from Colossians 3:17.  This is a meeting on Wednesday nights from 7:13pm until 9:15pm in the youth room. We gather together for a time of announcements, singing, praying and Scripture reading, Bible study, prayer groups, games, and a snack.

Expand our relationships with Christ through the studying of scripture in:

  • Sunday School   Meeting each week at 10:45am, students study Scripture in a systematic way as well as pray and fellowship.
  • Discipleship Groups   These meet based on gender and age each week for a study of a specific topic.
  • Retreats and Summer Camps There are retreats for each group held each year as well as summer camps.  Each of these has a specialized purpose but all seek to challenge our students to grow and serve our Lord and Savior.

Equip the believers for ministry through:

  • Leadership Teams   We have Middle School (MSST), High School (SST), and Adult (SMLT) teams that set vision, plan, serve, and lead the Student Ministry.  Each team meets on a monthly basis.
  • Integration into the life of the church   Students participate in worship services in various ways such as Bible reading, singing and giving testimony. They also participate in church-wide service projects; help staff the nurseries and preschool classes.
  •

Engage non-believers with the gospel through:

  • Activities such as hiking, skating, rafting and camping offer opportunities for adult leaders and students to get to know each other and have fun together.
  • Missions and Mercy   These are focused times spent on serving either people in our community or throughout the world.
