SERVICE
OPPORTUNITIES
The
following are some specific areas where our ladies are involved:
| • |
Cobb
Pregnancy Services—opportunities for service include
counseling, administrative work, clothes closet organization |
| • |
Sunrise
Assisted Living Ministry—mothers and young children
visit the elderly to offer encouragement |
| • |
Bibles for Missions Thrift Shop—volunteers
staff this thrift shop located near Roswell Road and Hwy 41. Donations
of items to sell are always needed as well. |
| • |
Summerhill
Community Ministry (inner city)—tutors for young
men and women who are in the after-school program and volunteers
to serve at the summer day camp are needed |
| • |
MUST
Ministries - a conglomerate of services to help the unemployed,
underemployed and/or homeless. ECPC members serve a meal once a
month and several ladies help staff the clothes closet each Wednesday.
|
| • |
Prison
Fellowship pen pals—some in our congregation write
letters to prisoners monthly |
These
organized opportunities are in addition to the everyday kindnesses that
are shown to others experiencing grief, childbirth, hospitalization,
or other difficult circumstances.
The deacons of ECPC oversee mercy ministry, but Renee Whorton serves on
the church’s Mercy Ministry Team as WIC liaison. She will be glad
to help you find your place of service. If you have questions about
any of the above ministries, or a passion for a mercy ministry that
we can help you explore, please contact Renee at
thewhortons@bellsouth.net .
For questions or comments, please contact the Women in the Church at WIC@ecpca.org. |
