Annual Events

Following is an overview of the annual events and special activities.   As soon as these are sheduled, dates will be available on the WIC Calendar. Please add those important dates to your calendar!

Fall kickoff event mid August. This is an annual preview event where you learn about ministries offered in the church and the upcoming WIC events for the year.  There is usually a short talk by one of the women in the church on a pertinent topic. We introduce the WIC Ministry Team and describe the upcoming Bible studies and other opportunities offered, such as the book club, spiritual mothering opportunities, mercy ministries, Moms play groups, etc.

Christmas Craft eventearly December. Women and children of ECPC host events to give children in our communities an opportunity to make gifts for family members.  These events may be held with children from two communities (Summerhill in downtown Atlanta and/or the Concept 21 Roswell Apartment complex)  working side by side with ECPC children to make gifts for parents and siblings. Come join us as we help these children experience the joy of giving.

Women’s RetreatFebruary or March.  An excellent opportunity to get away, spend some time with friends, get to know some new people, and hear an inspiring, encouraging message. There will be planned activities, fun, food and fellowship for all. The second night is optional with no planned activities. You can stay for a second night and have free time to relax with friends or get to know some new ones. nights.  It is one of the highlights of our year and draws the most women – don’t miss this event!

Spring eventApril or May.  We wind down the year with a special event in late spring.  It is a wonderful time for ladies of all ages to fellowship and learn something new.

Other Activities and Events

Throughout the year, there are numerous opportunities to get involved.

Women's Bible Studies - There are several different studies that meet during the day and evenings with childcare available.  See what Bible studies are currently meeting.
Prayer Teams - There are prayer teams that pray for different ministries at East Cobb and also a Prayer Chain for special prayer needs. You can contact the Prayer Chairman to get the chain activated.

Project Nights- Once a month, women are invited to join a group of ladies for Project Night. Women bring photo albums, stitching, scrapbooks or other projects to work on. These are held at different women's homes and are announced in the bulletin. You can also find this information on our calendar.

Book Club - The book club was started to motivate women to read good literature. The club reads the selected book and then meets in someone's home for discussion and fellowship. Our next meeting date can be found on the Book Reviews page.

Moms Play Group – This is a play group for moms with preschoolers or older children at home.  The play group meets the first Friday morning each month during the school year, and is hosted in various homes, local parks or at the church. This is a great opportunity for moms to get to know each other better while the kids play. Invite a friend or neighbor along! Meeting dates and locations can be found in the bulletin or in the church calendar.

For questions or comments, please contact the Women in the Church at WIC@ecpca.org.
